Joy Family Center (JFC) is an organization that supports American Military families living abroad. Our group of developmental experts create innovative programming for children and adolescence.

We provide in-depth evaluations to understand the patient needs, this is followed by a treatment plan that is holistic and effective. JFC is known for innovative programs such as social groups, after-school programs, summer/fall camps, Teen programs).
American Community, Family & Child Programs
Living Overseas can pose unique challenges to American Military and Civilian families. Joy Family Center (JFC) provides programs to meet those potential challenges. Our innovative events and programs include fun social activities to engage and connect families with their children and also to meet other families in a fun, enriching and creative space. Our programs are designed by developmental, mental health and educational experts who know that attending to the well-being of the entire family is vital.

All families are welcome to attend our programs. Our programs are an extension of our affiliated clinics in Vicenza and Gricignano, Italy where we have been the leading support for American families for the past 10 years. All of our programs have an on-site participation opportunity or an on-line platform.

Some of our most appreciated programs:

Parenting Support: This group supports parents in parenting, some common topics covered are sleeping, eating, routines, sibling rivalry, play, transition to school.

Parent Support for Families whose children participate in the Italian schools: This group supports the parents in knowing how to navigate the process of registration, how to communicate key points with the Italian teachers and how to support your child's successful integration into the Italian educational and social system. Often we host birthday parties for the mixed culture and mixed language group of kids, led by our Italian developmental specialists fluent in many languages.

Superhero Social Group: Our superhero social group is made for kids ages 6-10. The first aim is to discover a child's superpower and how to utilize their superpowers in day-to-day activities. Then, the second aim empowers parents to promote and strengthen their child's superpower for optimal development.

Teen Camp Fire: Our teen programs support connection between peers, in a non-digital environment.

American Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring camps: These unique camps provide children and teens the opportunity to have a place to go and connect with others in an engaging way.

PJ Party: Put on your favorite P.J.'s and join the fun. Movies, popcorn, games and surprises for everyone!

Pancakes and play: This event takes place in the kitchen and supports children to work in a group and feel competent.

Carnivale party: Integrating the Italian festivals into the program is key, also led by Italians fluent in multiple languages.

Sunshine Minds: This group supports children who may need an additional level of learning support while participating in online classrooms or being homeschooled.
